about yewflow

YewFlow is a freeride mountain biking school based in the Roaring Fork Valley of Western Colorado. We offer area youth opportunities to make progressions towards technical riding with a taste of personal style. Creating a playful state of mind is the foundation of all of our programs from the ground up. We offer a diverse line up of summer camps, training programs, and trips to freeriding destinations across the West. YewFlow programs are filled with personality, play, and calculated opportunities to step to the edge of one's comfort zone.

we are freeriders

Freeride mountain biking is a growing discipline of the sport for good reason. Rather than focusing on speed or endurance, YewFlow's programs are oriented towards style, creativity, and technical skills. The sky is the limit once you have those foundations in place.  We also know that progression on the bike leads to progressions in life and are dedicated to coaching from a positive state of mind, helping kids find their own voice and sense of self through the sport.

Our programs

Our riders and programs blend elements from BMX, dirt jumping, downhill, enduro and slopestyle disciplines. And of course - lots of fun, original experiences, and time to play.

We base our programs out of bike parks and spend a lot of time on dirt jumps and pump tracks developing land based skills. We progress to shuttled ride sessions on area trails, airbag training, and trips to regional riding destinations known for their freeriding features. YewFlow riders are the ones looking to find their flow and express themselves through personal progressions unique to their interests.

We have a diverse range of programs- everything from first time striders age 2-4, girls only classes and camps, beginner camps and advanced training programs for our freeride team.

Our Mission

YewFlow aims to offer young riders an entry point to freeride mountain biking.   We focus on fun, personal style, and developing a strong foundation of technical skills on the bike. Our programs begin from the ground upwards, offering a pathway to higher level progressions in the sport and in life.  We are dedicated to creating a playful state of mind and guided experiences on the edge of one's comfort zone.

YewFlow is all about you finding your flow.  Yew Yew!!  We strive to support riders in their creative expressions on the bike through all of our programs, but over all things, we strive to create an environment that deepens one's aliveness, sharpens the senses, and enhances self confidence.

About Andrew

Coach Andrew built his first bike park in his parent’s backyard in year 2000. Countless hours of hard work carving the dirt and finding flow led Andrew to a professional BMX career. Andrew chased his dream to perfect his trail style at indoor/outdoor parks and dirt jumps competitions across the country including countless other National Comps. After a decade of BMX, Andrew found his way to the Roaring Fork Valley in Colorado. The mountains lured him into numerous new riding styles including endurance road and gravel rides, epic high alpine mountain biking adventures, and perfecting his DH speed and style on the backyard stomping grounds.

In Spring of 2019 Andrew was hired to design and build Crown Mountain Bike Park in Basalt, Colorado.  Andrew’s time at Crown Mountain Bike Park reunited him with his lifelong passion, bringing new purpose and joy to all that creative shovel slapping!

Andrew quickly realized his love and stoke for the sport was the perfect elixir for coaching. Connecting with our community of athletes, parents and little shredders has set Andrew on his path as a coach... both on the bike and the snow.  Andrew is a PIMBA certified coach.

YewFlow was launched with the intention of keeping the magic flowing, building new offerings for the community, and leaning into the next Berm Braappping Banger!

Andrew is also the proud Dad of two up and coming shredders, Hukson Oaks (age 5) and Wylie Kailash (age 3)

What the parents are saying...

In Otto's words, his favorite things was that he got to do whatever he wanted to! He enjoyed biking and pushing himself go harder. He loved swimming in the pond, finding snakes, and creating worlds in the sand. As a parent, I loved to hear about the freedom and creativity he got to experience. It's rare kids get to just be these days and Yew Flow provides that in a safe and expansive way. -Hattie Johnson for Otto

Our daughter loves the challenge. Andrew pushes these girls to overcome challenges and pushes to see their limits. She has become a great biker from camp - Cassidy Sanderson for Brooke

The variety of activities to do each day- everyone was inclusive and welcoming. A good mix of things to do and options for the girls. Such a great camp!- Jennifer Tilley for Quinn

My son has biked with Coach Andrew since he was 6, starting in the summer of 2020. In that time, we have seen his love for biking grow along with his skills and confidence. Andrew's genuine care for each young biker coupled with his skilled riding and thoughtful teaching allows each student to grow and excel at their own pace. He fosters a supportive environment, where young bikers support each other and work together to reach their goals and celebrate successes together. We look forward to biking with Andrew for years to come! -Heather Lewin for Reggie

"Andrew Mann is the coolest guy in the valley! He is a charismatic coach and an incredibly skilled biker. Andrew always made our boys feel confident to be able to progress to new levels. Our kids were always stoked to ride with him!" -Jared McDermott for Finn (now a full time pro racer)

Our son LOOOOVES the big YewFlow days!! The psych, the team, the spots where they go, all of it! Andrew rocks! -Chloe Couvreux for Tao

Andrew and the coaches are awesome! My kid’s smile just got bigger and bigger each camp day! He learned a bunch of new things and his psych grew a ton. You guys rock. -Chloe Couvreux for Tao

The class has amazing coaching, a fun platform, engages kids in different ways, and is safe Trent Mahaffey for Tavian

The boys were so stoked! They wanted to go back immediately. George Nettles for Robbie and George

Coach Andrew and his staff understand kids- and they encourage them appropriately to challenge themselves , rest when needed, and send it when they are ready! My sons love riding with him. He is a great teacher and you can tell he does it for the kids! Amanda Wong for Jax

Our son is always tired and so happy at the end of these days. He feels free to do his own thing, yet he seems to really thrive in the light structure provided. Thank you! Dana Peterson for Alex

A perfect combination of mountain biking and art. My daughter loves it! She wants to do this everyday! She loves that it’s an all girls group, no intimidation and just fun! Jennifer Tilley for Quinn

It was a full day outdoors in nature! The coaches provided a wonderful balance between pushing our five-year old on the bike with playful time in the water. Despite being one of the youngest of the group (and one of only a few girls), she had so much fun and was eager to go back each day. Alison Hargarten for Kennedy

The YewFlow Little Shredders bike camp at Coal Basin Ranch is professionally planned and run but a talented group of coaches and staff. The ratio of coaching staff to kids is great. Kids are grouped together by age and ability level and receive plenty of support and attention. I want to commend Coach Abby especially for the work she put in with my daughter and 2 other 5 year old girls at the camp. My daughter had an amazing time biking and playing. Best camp of the summer! Brian Lee for Ava

So much! Variety of trail and park riding, Freedom to go at own pace, Emphasis on fun! Side trips to the river and ice cream shop. Good care of younger children... drinking water, reapplying sunscreen, etc. Bailey Haines for Tucker

Coach Andrew is amazing with the kids. He brings excitement and compassion. The kids LOVE him. Marci Seymour for Cassius

My son, Jay, loved the class with Andrew. Andrew keeps the kids engaged and offer tips that the kids wouldn’t hear otherwise. Jay talks about Andrew and Yewflow every day Michael Fishman for Jay

This class is SO cute and fun. Coach Andrew is great with the little kiddos -- fun and supportive and very go-with-the-flow (necessary when wrangling toddlers all doing their own thing). He keeps the vibe very fun and the kids all have a great time. My son has now done two classes (spring and fall) and has made insane progress in his confidence and skills. We're hooked! Heather Waugh for Sam

I love the mudlucious children that I pick up with huge smiles on their faces excited for the next day of camp! Andrew and his team are so conscientious, connective, passionate, positive and fun-loving. The kids are challenged and feel supported. This program is fabulous; we are so lucky to have this in the Valley. Christy Sanzaro for Frankie

My 9 yr old grandson was visiting for a few weeks and really enjoyed the camp. Crown Mountain has it all and between the variety of courses, low key vibe and small group, he had a great few days. Gained a lot of courage but never pressured and that created a really positive experience. Jo Ann Silverman for Theo

The skills taught immediately improved my daughter’s mechanics which makes her more confident…and less likely to flail off her bike!  Jaime Levy for Ayla

Coach Andrew, Nick and Finn are incredible. The vibe with the group is very supportive and encouraging and our son has excelled after two days.  Shawn Crampton for Jason

our coaches rock

Jacqueline Harmony joined the coaching crew in 2026, bringing her 25 years of experience as a mountain biker into the fold. Jacqueline has rode bikes and raced around the world, including many DH World Cups and is a proud Mom of two avid little riders of her own. We are so lucky to have her in the mix.

Our coaches are PIMBA certified with Wilderness First Aid Training.

Tomas Bensch has been with YewFlow from the beginning and is excited to start a fourth year on the team. He grew up in the Roaring Fork Valley but is of Czech descent. He is currently working on his BS of sustainability at Colorado Mountain College. He loves Redstone and all of the outdoor activities associated with the area, namely biking, skiing, and hiking. He has been riding BMX for roughly seven years, but loves all bikes and is working on developing his own style.

Junior Mentor Program

We launched our junior mentor coaching program in 2024.  After completing 60 hours of internship coaching hours, our Jr. Coaches graduate to paid coaching positions. Nick Searles and Finn McDermott thrived in their roles supporting the coaching staff and inspiring the younger riders.  Both riders have been training with Andrew for years and it was amazing to watch their progression into these new roles...  We look forward to growing this program and keeping the full circle in motion.
